These very frightening red strawberry birth marks begin at birth or within
the first few months. They get bigger the first year and then shrink by school age
where most are gone completely. If not then they are treated. The will be
treated the first year if they are obstructing eyes, ears, nose or mouth. Otherwise
we let them regress by themselves. Red capillaries in the skin that are not bulky
and similar to storks bite marks but are on the face or body should be sent ot dermatology
the first 6 months of life. They do not grow but do not go away. The larger
strawberry birth marks frequently go away as shown by these pictures and usually do not
get treated early.
