As new first time parents
we'd worry and fret
Over every little thing
our baby would get.
Mary would say
as we called panicking,
"There's only one Nathan,
go ahead, bring him in."
And Lea would distract Mom
as the needle went in
Knowing shots hurt Mom
as much as it did him.
Dr. Knapp could always get
a laugh and a smile
As he answered each question
with his warm, friendly style.
I'll never forget
when he quietly said,
"Babies grow on love
as much as what they're fed...
You can't spoil a baby
by hugging too much
All babies want and need
a caring human touch."
So as Nathan turns one
we're so grateful to know
Dr. Knapp and his staff
whose care helped him to grow.
With Appreciation,
