Pattern for musical pipes: obtain two 10-foot
lengths of ½ inch galvanized conduit pipe. Cut pipe to exact
measurements (1/8” off will change pitch). Drill hole for string 1-1.5
inches from top. Build frame to hold them or hold them in your hand
dangled from a string. Ring them with a spoon or large nail hitting the
pipes in the center. Number each pipe at the top. Place the numbers of
the songs on large pieces of poster board. The conductor points to the
numbers with a long stick and keeps the pace and syncopation. Each
person plays their pipe when their number is touched.
